Galata Bridge - History

The Galata Bridge in Istanbul is approximately 490 meters (1,608 feet) long.

Galata Bridge was built in the 19th century during the Ottoman period. It was a wooden bridge constructed in 1845 to connect the neighbourhoods of Eminönü and Galata (now Karaköy). The bridge played a significant role in facilitating transportation and trade between the two sides of Istanbul.
