The name "Tophane" translates to "cannon factory" in Turkish. In the past, Tophane was an important location for the Ottoman Empire's cannon production and artillery workshops. During the Ottoman period, Tophane served as a significant military and defense hub, with its strategic location along the Bosphorus. Kılıç Ali Paşa Cami:  also known as Kılıç Ali Pasha Mosque, is a historic mosque located in the Tophane neighbourhood of Istanbul, Turkey. It was commissioned by Kılıç Ali Pasha, an Ottoman admiral, and designed by the renowned Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan. The mosque was completed in 1580 and is considered one of the architectural masterpieces of the Ottoman Empire.

Tophane Fountain: The Tophane Fountain, also known as the Tophane Çeşmesi, is a historic fountain located in the Tophane neighbourhood of Istanbul, Turkey. It was constructed during the Ottoman period in 1732 by the order of Sultan Mahmud I. It was strategically positioned near the Tophane Artillery Barracks, which played a significant role in defending the city during that time. The fountain's purpose was to provide water for the soldiers and the people living in the area.

Kilic Ali Pasa Hamami (Turkish Bath): Kılıç Ali Paşa Hamamı, also known as the Kılıç Ali Pasha Turkish Bath, is a renowned historical hamam (bathhouse) located in the Tophane neighbourhood of Istanbul, Turkey. It was built in the 16th century by the famous Ottoman admiral Kılıç Ali Pasha, who was also the Grand Admiral of the Ottoman Navy. The Kılıç Ali Paşa Hamamı is considered a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture and an important cultural heritage site. It showcases the elegance and grandeur of traditional Turkish bath design
